The Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET) on July 2016 inked power purchase agreements (PPAs) with the developers of 12 solar projects in Nigeria totalling 975 MW, local media reported.
These projects are waiting for clearance by the local regulator, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), after which the developers will have 12 months to reach financial close, the Daily Trust reports. The construction work will be completed within 12 to 18 months following financial close.
Among the PPA winners are Nigeria Solar Capital Partners, which will be building a 135-MW solar park in Ganjuwa LGA of Bauchi state
