Wind Farm to be built in Lomé


In September 2012, the Government of Togo has signed a consession contract with the Eco Delta company for the construction and operation of a 25.2 MW wind farm in Lomé, following an international call for proposals. The concession has the duration of 22 years, of which 2 will be dedicated to set up financing, for construction and commissioning of the power plant.

1000 Solar lamps for public lighting in Dakar


The city of Dakar, Senegal,  has now an improved public lighting system, thanks to the installation of 1000 solar lamps in February 2013. This is part of a larger project being implemented by the Municipality of Dakar, which aims not only to improve the public lighting service in the city, but also to conduct technical and financial capacity building trainings of its staff.

The project began in July 2008 and is scheduled to be completed on June 2014.

The project is being funded by:

Installation of 340 kW PV micro-grid in a rural area of Guinea Bissau

Virtual Image Battery House

In Bambadinca, Bafata region in Guinea Bissau, the rural community will benefit of electricity supply through a micro-grid of 340 kW PV, a storage capacity of 69.000 Ah and a diesel genset back-up of 290 kVA.

The project started in 2011 and is expected to be fully implemented in 2015.

TESE – Development Association / Engineers Without Borders (EWB) is executing the EU Bambadinca Sta Claro – Community Programme for Access to Renewable Energy, contract nº2011/231-830, has as specific objective ensure sustainable access to electricity through renewable energy to the village of Bambadinca, Bafatá Region, in Guinea-Bissau.

Release of SIE 2010 in Benin

 The General Direction of Energy has released the SIE-2010, which is the annual energy statistics report (Systeme d'Information Energetique).

ECREEE PV system promotes era of green energy in Cape Verde

The first private grid-connected renewable energy household system has been commissioned under the new renewable energy law of Cape Verde. Since November 2011 a PV solar system with an installed capacity of 9,9 kW is serving major parts of the electricity demand of the ECREEE office.
