1000 Solar lamps for public lighting in Dakar

 

The city of Dakar, Senegal,  has now an improved public lighting system, thanks to the installation of 1000 solar lamps in February 2013. This is part of a larger project being implemented by the Municipality of Dakar, which aims not only to improve the public lighting service in the city, but also to conduct technical and financial capacity building trainings of its staff.

The project began in July 2008 and is scheduled to be completed on June 2014.
