Descrição:

Energy scarcity and the high environmental costs of fossil and nuclear power production in Africa demand that energy production should not only increase but be based on renewable resources. To this end, Feed-in Tariffs (FITs) have already proved successful in several African countries. In order to evaluate the effects of the implementation of FITs, the World Future Council and the Heinrich Böll Foundation, with additional support provided by Friends of the Earth UK, have conducted an extensive field study with several researchers across Africa. The findings are presented and analysed in the book "Powering Africa through Feed-in Tariffs - advancing renewable energies to meet the continent's electricity needs".
