Mali signs a Power Purchase Agreement for the Sikasso PV plantThe Government of Mali awarded PowerPro to built Sikasso solar plant of 50 MW as part of a public-private partnership (PPP). PowerPro was selected to install the PV plant in a BOOT (Build, Own, Operate, Transfer). The government of the country committed to purchase the power produced by the plant, and signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with PowerPro. Commissioning of Malbaza 7MW solar plant in NigerThe ECOWAS member state commissioned in November 2018 its first solar PV plant in Malbaza, a rural community in the Tahoua region. The project, funded by the Indian Government, will provide electricity access to about 30,000 households in the departments of Madaoua, Malbaza and Konni. Senegal inaugurates its fourth Solar PV PlantIn January 2018 Senegal has inaugurated its fourth grid connected PV plant. The project is located in Mérina Ndakhar and has an installed capacity of 30MW. With the commissioning of this plant, the ECOWAS member state counts now with 104 MW of solar grid connected installed capacity, thus contributing to achieve the national target of producing the 30% of the electricity by using renewable energy resources by 2020.
