Liberiaruralenergy.org presents the Rural Energy Strategy and Master Plan for Liberia (RESMP), which communicates the main elements of the Master Plan to key stakeholders. The RESMP for the period until 2030 aims to set clear targets, to identify least-cost projects and technologies, to propose concrete investments for funding and implementation, with appropriate institutional framework and capacity to increase energy access and renewable energies to the country’s rural areas and population – meaning all areas and population outside of greater Monrovia. International fair for Energy and Water organized in Benin- December 15-18, 2016

The Ministry of Energy, Water and Mines of Benin is organizing the first edition of the Energy and Water International Exhibition of Benin (SIEEB), that will be held from 15th to 18th of December 2016 at the Congress Palace in Cotonou. The Solutions Center and SE4All have joined forces to provide Governments with rapid, on-demand expert assistance by implementing integrated country actions that strategically transform their energy systems. Through the Ask an Expert service, the Solutions Center provides NO-COST EXPERTISE through a network of more than 50 world-class multi-lingual policy and finance authorities from all regions of the world. These experts work directly with Governments to address country-specific needs as they develop country SE4All action agendas and investment prospectuses. Cabo Verde wins SEFA grant to develop wave-powered desalination system

Cabo Verde was awarded a US $930,000 grant by the African Development Bank-hosted Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa (SEFA) on December 21, 2015 to develop the world’s first wave-driven desalination system. The project was selected in the framework of the 1st round of the West Africa Forum for Clean Energy Financing (WAFCEF). Wave2O™, to be located in Praia Grande, São Vicente- Cabo Verde, will operate completely “off-grid” and supply more than 48,000 people with clean fresh water at a competitive cost. The system is expected to have a capacity of 4,000 m3/day of water.
