Sustainable Energy Investment Workshop in Guinea Bissau

The Workshop in Sustainable Energy investment in Guinea Bissau will be held in Lisbon (Portugal) on the 4th of May 2018. Organized by ALER and UNIDO, ECREEE and the Ministry of Energy and Industry of the West African country, the event also counts with the support of GEF (Global Environmental Facility). Included in the 2018 Forum of SEforALL, the workshop is organized under the framework o the project "Promoting Investments in small and medium Renewable Energy Technologies in the electricity sector in Guinea Bissau", which aims to promote the south-south cooperation between Guinea Bissau and other lusophone countries, as well as execute the SDG-7 objective under the SEforALL program for the ECOWAS country.

World Bank Interactive Applications to support energy planning and monitoring and evaluation

The World Bank recently released the ENERGYDATA.INFO platform with the aim of making open data and analytics on the energy sector increasingly available. Among different sections and datasets, the platform has a specific entry with interactive applications to support energy plannig, rural elecrification and monitoring and evaluation activities. Users have access to different tools, among which it could be highlighted under our special focus in West Africa: the Africa Electricity Grid Explorer, the Off-grid Market Opportunities application, the Regulatory Indicators for Sustainable Energy, the Global Tracking Framework application, Electrification Paths and Climatescope.

International fair for Energy and Water organized in Benin- December 15-18, 2016

The Ministry of Energy, Water and Mines of Benin is organizing the first edition of the Energy and Water International Exhibition of Benin (SIEEB), that will be held from 15th to 18th of December 2016 at the Congress Palace in Cotonou. With more than 50 stands, 10 speakers and training workshops, this exhibition promisses in innovation and demonstration for a better management of water and energy in Africa. It brings together water and energy production companies, equipment suppliers companies, instalation and maintenance companies, utilities, academia, investment and financing institutions and more stakeholders.This event sets a precedent for the professionals working in the energy and water sector to connect with all different stakeholders and to get knowledge of all different activities and innovative solutions that exists in the sector.
